Rolling right along.

Well, here we are at 14 weeks and a naval orange. It's going by quite fast, considering we're more than a quarter of the way to the finish line! The belly keeps getting bigger, and I'm very happy to say that the second week of the second trimester has brought back much of my energy. The dogs are glad to be walked in the evenings, and I'm glad to eat better home-cooked food than grilled cheese sandwiches (as I'm sure Brant is too).

Speaking of, Brant returned late last night from his longest China trip in years - one more day and I would have become a basketcase!

Another thing about to basketcase me: Not knowing if it's a boy or girl in there! 6 more weeks to find out. I didn't think I'd be so intent on knowing, but it feels like once we know we can really start planning and picking out and talking names and all that fun stuff.

My sewing machine will arrive any day now (thanks again, Mom & Pop!), and I think I've decided to make the baby's bed quilt myself. Just a fun tidbit about the nursery!

12 weeks, 6 days

I just got home from my 12 week appointment, and me-oh-my what a change since the 8 week check-up! First of all, the baby actually looks like a baby now. But more importantly, Baby B. was actually moving around in there! At one point, there was even a wave of the hand toward the screen that looked like a "Hi, Mommy!" It was the most incredible thing to see...Now it really feels real! The picture isn't all that clear this time, but here it is anyway.

The baby's head (with it's enormous smarty pants brain, of course) is on the right, and that line that goes left to right is the spine! You can see a foot sticking out around the top left, there too.

Oh, and tomorrow we reach the second trimester!

The baby bump has arrived!

I've spent a couple of weeks now with g-rigged pants, but now the baby bump is actually starting to show. It still just look like I've been hitting the Chinese buffet a bit too hard, but we all know the truth.

8 weeks - nothing really to see...
12 weeks - getting a bit round!

Just one more week of Trimester One!

We have reached 12 weeks, so it's an official three months pregnant now! And it shows... The little nugget is now the size of a peach, and while that seems a manageable petite size, it's getting harder and harder to find clothes that still fit and get dressed every morning. Worthy sacrifice, though! It's one more week until the next doctor's appointment, and I can't wait! Four weeks is a long time to wait in between.

I added a ticker to the right side of the page, here, to track the various fruit sizes of the baby. It goes all the way up to watermelon (GULP)...but for now, it's a cute little peach.
